2019 Temple Terrace Hickory Heritage and U.S. Professional Hickory Golf Championship

February 23, 2019 - February 25, 2019
Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club - Temple Terrace, Florida

The Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club opened in 1922, designed by noted architect Tom Bendelow. At the time, its 6,400 yards was described by the Tampa Tribune as a “brute of a course.” It was a stout test for the hickory clubs of the day. The golf is course is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, one of only three such in the state.

The U.S. Professional Hickory Golf Championship is sponsored by the United States Golf Teachers Federation and open to all golf professionals, male and female. Players compete for the same $5,000 prize fund associated with the original Florida Open won by Leo Diegel. Also included is a division for amateur golfers.

The event is usually paired with a Hickory Heritage weekend comprised of a hickory scramble and golf challenge on the Saturday and Sunday prior. Included is a Saturday night ball that serves as a fund raiser for the Temple Terrace Historic Society.

More details and a registration form will be posted here when available.
